One of a series of eleven experimental screen-printed monoprints, each a unique work informed by the volcanic landscape of Pantelleria and the complex wines produced there. The compositions draw on the island's contorted and fractured geology, and the luminous haze of the Mediterranean atmosphere, translating these elemental forms into layered abstractions. Built through successive applications of colour gradients of varying opacity, each print accumulates a complex chromatic architecture in which colour, light, and surface remain in continual dialogue. The stratified printing process echoes the island's geological formations, while embracing the material contingencies and singularity inherent to the monoprint. The resulting works position the monoprint as both image and process, where material transformation and chance are integral to the final composition. Printed by hand using 25+ colours on 315gsm Heritage Book paper
